COLUMBUS, Ohio (24-7 News)--Lawmakers in Ohio are introducing legislation which would legalize sports betting in the state.

According to a release from the statehouse Monday, Senate Bill 111 was introduced recently with bipartisan support, and would allow people 21-years and older to bet on games inside casinos or online through casino websites.

Hearings for the bill have not been scheduled yet, but it could be going up for a vote as soon as this June according to its sponsors.

Ohio now joins an estimated 20 other states across the country who are in a similar process of legalizing sports betting.
