DELAWARE, Ohio (24-7 News)--A local doctor is avoiding lengthy jail time after the three victims of a car crash he caused while driving under the influence asked the court to spare him a prison term.
A judge in Delaware County Monday sentenced Dr. David Crawford to three days in jail, two and half years probation, and suspended his driver's license for four years pointing to strong support from the crash victims as factors in his decision.
Crawford pled guilty back in January to the crash last June on Muirfield Court which seriously injured his passengers, pro golfer Bud Cauley and former hockey player James Wisniewski.
Crawford admitted to driving the car while drunk, losing consciousness, and crashing.
