COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Nationwide Children's Hospital will increase the minimum wage paid to hospital staff beginning this summer.
Hospital CEO Dr. Steve Allen said the hourly wage rate would increase from ten-dollars to 15-dollars starting in July.
Allen said the raise would help attract the best entry-level candidates and show current employees their work is valued.
Under the new policy, a minimum wage worker who logs 40-hours a week would make just over 30-thousand dollars a year before taxes or any other withholdings.
The announcement also means those currently making about $15 an hour will receive pay increases, based on their tenure and scope of responsibilities.
