CBJ Wins Game 3, One Win Away from Advancing

Tampa Bay Lightning v Columbus Blue Jackets - Game Three

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The Columbus Blue Jackets are now one win away from their first series victory ever in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, following their 3-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 3.

The Jackets have a commanding 3-0 series lead, with game four Tuesday night at Nationwide Arena.

Matt Duchene and Oliver Bjorkstrand scored in the 2nd period for the Jackets, and while Tampa cut the lead to 2-1 early in the 3rd period, Cam Atkinson added an empty-netter to ice the win.

Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky made 30 saves in the win.

Since falling behind 3-0 in game One of the series in Tampa, The Jackets have outscored the Lightning 12-2 in the series.

It is now the Tampa Bay Lightning that face a nearly insurmountable obstacle. In the history of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, heading into 2018, 188 teams have been down 3-0 in a series, but only four teams have ever come back to win the series, with the last time happening in 2014.
