SHELBY, Ohio (WTVN)--The National Weather Service confirmed that a tornado touched down Sunday afternoon in northern Richland County.

The twister caused damage to homes and other structures in Shelby, along with taking down numerous trees.

There were no serious injuries reported, but about a half-dozen people were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
