COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The Columbus Blue Jackets ended their streak without a Stanley Cup Playoff series win in historic fashion on Tuesday.
The CBJ scored a 7-3 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 4 of their series at Nationwide Arena to sweep the President's Trophy winners.
It's the first time ever that the team with the best regular-season record in the NHL was swept in the 1st round.
With the game tied at 3 late in the 2nd period, Oliver Bjorkstrand netted to go-ahead goal. The Jackets were able to hang on until the last two minutes of the game, when they scored three empty-net goals.
The Jackets now await the winner of the series between the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs. That series is 2-1 in favor of Toronto.
