More Lawsuits Filed Against Ohio State With Regard to Dr. Strauss

COLUMBUS, Ohio (24-7 News)--New court documents show five more people have filed a lawsuit against the Ohio State University alleging school officials failed to act on complaints of abuse by a former athletic team doctor.

The five new plaintiffs' names were not listed on the lawsuit to protect their identities but at least three of them were described as former members of the OSU wrestling team.

Dr. Richard Strauss, who took his own life in 2005, has been accused of molesting students over three decades while he worked at the University between 1978 and 1998.

The new lawsuit is similar to others filed against Ohio State charging the institution with indifference to the personal rights and safety of their students.

A previous court ruling has ordered that the university go to mediation with the previous litigants.
