Former OSU Dive Coach Reaches Plea Deal For Sexual Battery

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--A former coach with a club Diving team at The Ohio State University entered a guilty plea to charges that he sexually assaulted a minor and student-athlete.

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O'Brien says 33-year-old William Bohonyi was originally charged with sexual battery and pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor. His guilty plea Thursday to sexual battery is in exchange for the other charges dropped.

Prosecutors say Bohonyi was a coach for the University's Dive Club, and used his position to prey on the victim. When the university learned of the allegations in August 2014, he was immediately placed on administrative leave, and was later terminated.

Bohonyi will sentenced on August 12th.
