Damage in Central Ohio From Severe Weather

CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio (WTVN)--Surveyors from the National Weather Service will be in Pickaway County Tuesday to look at damage from severe weather and determine if it was caused by a tornado.

Emergency officials report most of the damage was done east of US 23 and south of Tarlton Road, south of Circleville. Numerous roadways were reported closed Tuesday morning, including US 23 at Pittsburgh Road, due to power lines down or debris on the roadway.

Semi-trucks were overturned at the Love's truck stop along 23.

Early reports also indicate a barn and home were damaged near Laurelville as a result of the storm.

It was part of a storm system that moved in late Monday and early Tuesday, prompting tornado warnings across central Ohio. The same system caused a tornado in the Dayton area that emergency officials describe as "catastrophic".
