COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Columbus Police have identified the suspect that is now in custody for the shooting death of a teenager, and injuries to another teen, stemming from a shooting near an elementary school last week.
13-year-old Juano Payton was taken into custody without further incident Tuesday night. He was wanted for the shooting death of 14-year-old Jaykwon Sharp near Shady Lane Elementary School on May 22nd.
14-year-old Miracle Carolina was also shot in the incident. She is expected to recover from her injuries.
Police believe the shooting stemmed from an argument between the suspect and victim.
