WILMINGTON, Ohio (WTVN)--The National Weather Service has confirmed that two tornadoes hit Pickaway County in the outbreak late Monday and early Tuesday across Ohio.
Investigators say one of the twisters in Pickaway County was an EF-0 that struck just south of Circleville, the other was an EF-1 south of Tarlton.
The EF-1 tornado could have also possibly gone into Hocking County, according to the NWS. There was also an EF-2 tornado that hit near Laurelville, in Hocking County.
More damage assessments are expected Wednesday. The NWS says there were a total of eight tornadoes that struck across their coverage area in a 24-hour period. The most serious storms hit Celina and Dayton, as three different EF-3's.
Governor Mike DeWine declared a state of emergency for Greene, Montgomery, and Mercer counties after he toured the devastation for himself.
