Ryan Day Establishes new Charitable Fund at Nationwide Children's Hospital

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--New Ohio State Football Coach Ryan Day has established a new charitable fund at Nationwide Children's Hospital, focusing on programs to help kids and teens dealing with mental illness.

The Ryan and Christina Day Fund for Pediatric and Adolescent Mental Wellness will focus on mental health advocacy, behavioral health research, and prevention efforts.

The fund was established with an initial contribution from the Day family of $100,000. The fund will also support the nationwide "On Our Sleeves" movement to transform childhood mental health.

The issue is personal for the Coach, with Day's father committing suicide in 1988.

Hospital officials remind you that the National Suicide Prevention Hotline is 1-800-273-8255.
