Two Teens Shot, One Dead, in Merion Village

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Columbus Police are investigating a shooting that left two teens victims, with one of them dead.

Officers were called to an apartment along West Welch Avenue, in Merion Village, around 12:30AM, where the victims were found with gunshot wounds.

15-year-old Shamya Saultz, and an unidentified 14-year-old boy, were both taken to Grant Medical Center. Saultz died a few hours later, and the other teen remains in critical condition.

Witnesses say a single suspect, wearing all-black, entered the residence and opened fire on a gathering of family and friends, hitting the two victims.

Investigators say it is Columbus's 49th homicide of 2019.
