COLUMBUS, Ohio (24-7 news)--The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency will distribute over 650-thousand dollars in grant money to use for mosquito control across the state.
Officials said the money would go to community health departments and other related public agencies.
The grant money is to be used to help mitigate the spread of mosquito-borne viruses including Zika, West Nile, and La Cross Encephalitis.
The grants will go to 30 Ohio counties considered to be the highest risk areas and will help pay for mosquito surveillance, spraying, larval control, and community outreach.
