Body Recovered from Scioto River Identified

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The Franklin County Sheriff's Office has identified the body that was pulled from the Scioto River on Sunday.

Deputies say 40-year-old Damon Farmer was recovered by a Sheriff's dive team, after a boater reported seeing a leg in the water near the Scioto Canoe Livery.

Farmer is believed to have jumped into the river from the Greenlawn Avenue bridge in downtown Columbus on May 27th.

Units from both the Columbus Police and Fire Department searched the water shortly after he was seen jumping in, but could not find him.

His body was recovered approximately 7 miles downstream.

Investigators do not believe foul play was involved.
