$1-Million Bond Set for Newark Murder Suspect

NEWARK, Ohio (WTVN)--A teenage murder suspect is being held on one-million dollars bond, for the shooting death of a 12-year-old girl in Newark last Friday.

Prosecutors say 18-year-old Keegan Mummey is charged with aggravated murder, for the killing of Isabella Barnes.

The girl was found with a gunshot wound to the head on the front porch of her home along Ridgelawn Avenue Friday. Mummey is accused of pulling the trigger, then fleeing the scene on his bicycle, while ditching the murder weapon along the way.

Investigators spent Monday search the area along State Route 79, between Heath and Hebron, for the murder weapon, but no item was found.

Family and friends of Barnes held a candlelight vigil for her at her home Monday. A GoFundMe page has also been set up to cover the girl's funeral expenses.
