Report: L Brands Investigating Jeffrey Epstein's Role in Company

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--According to The Wall Street Journal, L Brands has brought in an independent firm to investigate the possible additional dealings that Jeffrey Epstein had with the company.

Epstein is currently being held on multiple charges of sex trafficking involving minors, and has past connections to L Brands Founder and CEO Les Wexner.

According to the Journal, former company executives say Epstein bought the company a plane, and had a role in selecting models for Victoria's Secret.

A statement from L Brands to the Journal states that they do not believe Epstein was ever employed by or served in an official capacity with the company.

Epstein was also previously Wexner's money manager. Wexner earlier sent a statement to company employees, saying he cut ties with Epstein over a decade ago, and that the charges against Epstein are abhorrent.

There was also a report that a sexual assault of a teenager by Epstein occurred at a property owned by Wexner. Les has indicated he was not there at the time.
