CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio (WTVN)--The Ohio State Highway Patrol says two people died in a wrong-way over the weekend in Pickaway County.
Troopers say the driver was heading north in the southbound lanes of US 23, near North Court Street, around 11PM Saturday, when the patrol cruiser was struck, and the wrong-way vehicle then hit another vehicle head-on.
That vehicle was being driven by 17-year-old Josh Fyffe Jr. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His 17-year-old passenger, was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition.
The wrong-way driver, identified as 56-year-old Carol Fowler of Pickerington, also died in the crash.
Fyffe had just started his Senior year at Teays Valley High School last week. Grief counselors will be on hand at the school today for those affected.
