Elderly Man Beaten in his Home, Car Stolen by Teens

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--An elderly man was beaten in his home by two teenagers, who fled in the man's vehicle.

Columbus Police say it happened Sunday afternoon at a home along Basil Drive. It started when the teens knocked on the man's door, asking if he needed his grass cut. He declined, and the teens left, but came back and asked if they could use his phone.

That's when they forced their way in, and knocked the victim to the ground and beat him.

The victim was incapacitated for about two hours, and the suspects fled in his vehicle. That car is a 2007 Honda CRV, gray in color, with Ohio license plate GQN-1424.

The victim had lacerations to his face and a tooth knocked out.

Investigators are still looking for any information that could lead to an arrest.
