Driver with Gunshot Wound Crashes, Dies

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--What was originally thought to be an accident investigation in the Linden Area Tuesday afternoon quickly turned into a homicide investigation, with the driver found with a gunshot wound.

Columbus Police say 27-year-old William Hill III lost control of his vehicle along Mt. Vernon Avenue, near 17th Avenue, just before 7PM Tuesday, and crashed into a building.

When first responders arrived, they found Hill with a gunshot wound. A CFD medic transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A juvenile passenger in Hill's car was also hospitalized as a precaution, and later released.

Investigators consider it Columbus's 70th homicide of 2019.
