COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--A lawyer involved in one of the most famous murder cases of the last decade will be representing Dr. William Husel at his upcoming murder trial.
A Franklin County judge permitted Jose Baez to join Dr. Husel's legal team, with the trial also pushed back to may of 2020.
Dr. Husel is facing 25 counts of murder for the overdose deaths of patients under his case at Mt. Carmel West, from 2015 to 2018. Dr. Husel was connected to at least 35 deaths.
Baez said Dr. Husel reached out to him for representation.
Baez's profile went national when he represented Casey Anthony in her murder trial in Florida in 2011. Anthony was acquitted of killing her two-year-old daughter.
Baez was also legal counsel for former new England Patriots Tight End Aaron Hernandez in his murder trial. He was convicted for the murder of Odin Lloyd.
