COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--A student at Marion-Franklin High School was found with a handgun in his backpack on Wednesday.
A school resource officer confronted 18-year-old Waki Malik Bryant Wednesday, after a report that he was smoking marijuana in the bathroom.
A search of Bryant's bag uncovered a Hi-Point .30 caliber handgun, a loaded magazine, marijuana and a digital scale.
Bryant was arrested and charged with Conveying a Weapon in a School Zone, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
Arraignment is set for Thursday morning.
