FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WTVN)--A chase involving Franklin County Sheriff's Deputies Sunday afternoon ended with a crash in Franklin Township that injured nine children.
Investigators say the suspect fled from deputies following an attempted traffic stop along Eakin Road, and the pursuit ended with the vehicle crashing into an SUV at the corner of Eakin and Demorest Roads, that was carrying ten children.
The chase reached speeds of 50-miles an hour, twice the posted speed limit in the area.
The children were ages 4 to 11, and all of the injuries were minor. Only one of the children in the SUV was wearing a seat belt, or in a proper car seat at the time of the crash.
The suspect driver even tried to run from the scene of the crash, but was apprehended.
Investigators say both drivers involved are now facing charges.
