Alcohol A Factor in Fatal Wrong-Way Crash

CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio (WTVN)--Troopers say alcohol played a role in the wrong-way crash that killed two teenagers in Pickaway County last month.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 52-year-old Carol Fowler of Pickerington had a blood-alcohol level of .081 at the time of the crash on August 17th. That's just above the legal limit.

She was heading northbound in the southbound lanes of US 23 near Circleville, when she hit the car head-on, carrying 17-year-old Josh Fyffe Jr and 17-year-old Vladyslav Gaidai.

Both teens were students at Teays Valley High School.

Fowler also died in the crash. She also had prescription medication in her system.
