Shawn Grate Sentenced for 2006 Murder in Marion County

MARION, Ohio (WTVN)--Confessed serial killer Shawn Grate has plead guilty to a 5th murder, and sentenced to life in prison.

Grate appeared in court in Marion County Wednesday to answer to the death of Dana Lowery, who died back in 2006.

Her body was found in 2007, and her identity remained a mystery for over 10 years, before Grate provided more information about her murder.

Lowery is also believed to be Grate's first murder victim.

Grate was previously given a death sentence for the murders of two women in Ashland County in 2016. He was also convicted in the murders of two women in Richland County.
