Former Postal Worker Admits to Stealing Marijuana, Meth from Packages

United States Postal Service Reports Lost Of 2.3 Billion, As Its Delivering Fewer Packages

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--A former Columbus postal worker has admitted in federal court to stealing marijuana and methamphetamine from parcels he was supposed to deliver.

32-year-old Ricky Germany plead guilty Wednesday to one count of conspiring to possess with intent to distribute meth and marijuana.

investigators say they received a tip last year that Germany was breaking into packages to steal the pot and meth, and selling it in his neighborhood.

A search of his residence revealed the contraband. A complaint says he stole more than 100 pounds of marijuana over a six-month period.

Germany was an employee of the USPS Oakland Park station in Columbus from 2013 to 2018.

He is now awaiting sentencing, with the offense punishable by 10 years to life in prison.
