Wrongful Death Lawsuit for Henry Green Dismissed

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--A wrongful death lawsuit against the Columbus Police Department, for the shooting death of Henry Green in 2016, has been dismissed by a federal judge.

Two undercover Columbus Police officers opened fire on Green in the Linden area, after they say he ignored commands to drop his gun.

The officers identified themselves before engaging Green.

A grand jury failed to indict the officers on criminal charges, and an internal review by CPD cleared them of any wrongdoing.

Critics argued that the incident was racially motivated, with Green a 23-year-old black man, and the officers involved white.

The incident also brought criticism of the department's Summer Safety Initiative.
