Buckeyes Move Up in The Polls after Win Over Michigan State

Michigan State v Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The Ohio State Buckeyes continue to impress the pollsters, especially with their latest victory over Michigan State.

Thanks to their 34-10 victory over the then-25th ranked Spartans Saturday night, the Buckeyes moved into a tie with Georgia for #3 in the latest Associated Press Poll, and are at #4 in the latest Amway Coaches poll.

Ohio State got off to a slow start Saturday, only leading 3-0 after the 1st quarter, and forcing two Michigan State turnovers, but exploded with 24 points in the 2nd quarter, including a 67-yard touchdown run by Running Back JK Dobbins.

Quarterback Justin Fields also had two touchdown passes and a touchdown run in the win.

The Buckeyes get some well-deserved rest this week, as they are on a bye week, before heading to Northwestern to take on the Wildcats on Friday, October 18th.

The poll that counts, The College Football Playoff poll, does not release it's first poll of the season until November 5th.

The top four teams in the final College Football Playoff poll of the season make the playoff, and will play for the National Championship.
