Off-Duty Sheriff's Deputy Shot in Road Rage Incident

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--A Franklin County Sheriff's deputy, who was shot in a road rage incident, is recovering.

Columbus Police say the deputy was shot while in his car along East North Broadway, near Eisenhower Road Friday night, when another driver got mad at his driving and shot five times into the deputy's vehicle.

Deputy Jim Church was struck once in the face.

The victim was driving home after getting his dog groomed when it happened. Officers are still looking for the suspect involved.

Police have yet to provide a description of the suspect or the suspect's vehicle.
