Two Manatees Rehabilitated at Columbus Zoo Returned to Florida

POWELL, Ohio (WTVN)--Two manatees, who have spent nearly two years at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, have returned to Florida to complete their rehabilitation and return to the wild.

Zoo officials Tuesday said Carmen and Heavy Falcon arrived safe and sound at SeaWorld Orlando.

The zoo is part of a rehabilitation program, where they are cared for at the facility in Powell, and groomed for a possible re-release into the wild.

The Columbus Zoo currently has three manatees in that program--Bananatee, Tostone, and Stubby.

The goal for Carmen and Heavy Falcon is to have them released back near where they were discovered in February 2018.
