Report: Cowboys Interested in Urban Meyer

UNDATED, (WTVN)--Interest is reportedly growing from the Dallas Cowboys to have Urban Meyer return to Coaching.

A report from the NFL Network's Jane Slater says Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones recently spoke to Meyer, according to a source.

The Cowboys lost their 3rd straight game Thursday night, this time to the Chicago Bears.

Jones adds that current Head Coach Jason Garrett will remain the coach.

Other names thrown out as possible replacements for Garrett are Oklahoma Coach Lincoln Riley, and Clemson offensive Coordinator Tony Elliott.

Meyer led the Buckeyes for 7 seasons, winning the National Championship in 2014, and a 7-0 record against Michigan.

He retired after the Ohio State win over Washington in the 2019 Rose Bowl. Meyer is now an assistant in the OSU Athletics Department, and teacher at the university.
