Report: Chase Involving Sheriff's Deputies Violated Department Policy

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--A report released on the investigation into a chase involving Franklin County Sheriffs Deputies showed the deputies violated department policy.

The report stemmed form the incident in November, when deputies pursued a vehicle at speeds that reached 95 miles an hour, on streets of Columbus's west side.

That chase ended in a crash along Sullivant Avenue. The driver was hospitalized, and faces numerous charges.

The report says the excessive speeds in the chase put the public at greater risk of harm. It also recommends that the deputies involved face discipline.

One of the deputies involved in the November chase was also involved in a chase in February. That one resulted in the death of an innocent pedestrian along Hamilton Road.
