COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Dr. William Husel has filed a defamation lawsuit against Mt. Carmel Health System.
Husel was fired in early 2019 for administering fatal overdoses of powerful pain medications to dozens of patients over a period of several years.
Prosecutors have charged Husel with 25 counts of murder.
William Husel says Mount Carmel Health System is responsible for the "most egregious" case of defamation in recent history.
Husel has retained high-profile attorney Jose Baez as part of his legal team. Baez was part of the defense team for Casey Anthony, who was acquitted of the murder of her two-year-old daughter in 2011.
