Shoplifting Suspect Threatens Walmart Employee With Knife, Gets Away

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Columbus Police say a shoplifting suspect threatened an employee at a Walmart with a knife before making a getaway.

Police say the suspect was seen on surveillance video putting items into a duffel bag while shopping at the store on Westpoint Plaza Drive Sunday morning. The suspect was confronted by the store's Asset Protection Manager as he was leaving the store.

The suspect was ordered to stop, but instead pulled out a pocket knife and lunged at the APM. The suspect dropped the duffel bag full of stolen items, and fled in a maroon/red Honda Accord with only a rear license plate.

The suspect is described as a white male, between 25 and 45 years old, with reddish hair and scruffy facial hair. He was last seen wearing a red hat with the word "drip" on it.
