$17,000 missing from a school vending machine

There's an investigation taking place after 17,000 dollars has gone missing from a school vending machine. The state auditor says he's investigating the alleged theft from a Worthington City School owned vending machine.

The money over a course of 6 years is unaccounted for in deposit records. Officials say the machine at Linworth Alternative School should have operated at a net-zero margin however out of 50 thousand dollars collected only 33 thousand dollars was paid to vendors.

No criminal charges have been filed but an administrative secretary who oversaw the funds has resigned.
