Joe Burrow, Former OSU QB, Leads LSU To National Championship

College Football Playoff National Championship - Clemson v LSU

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana (WTVN)--The National Championship win for LSU Monday night has a deep Ohio connection.

The Tigers were led this year by Quarterback Joe Burrow, who had a record-setting season that culminated in winning the Heisman Trophy. He threw for six touchdowns in the 42-25 win over Clemson in the Championship Game.

The performance also resulted in an NCAA record for touchdowns in a season for Burrow, with 65 total.

Burrow's journey to the title started in Ohio. He was a standout for Athens High School, being named Ohio's "Mr. Football" in 2014.

He originally committed to play at Ohio State, and transferred to LSU in 2018.

Burrow is now expected to be the #1 pick in the NFL Draft this spring.
