Depositions Begin for Nurses Connected to Dr. William Husel at Mt. Carmel

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Depositions began Tuesday with regard to nurses that worked with Dr. William Husel at Mt. Carmel Health System, and whether they played a role in the dozens of overdose deaths the doctor is accused of administering.

The Ohio Board of Nursing opened a hearing by questioning experts on whether nurses have a right or an obligation to speak up when they feel a prescription is inappropriate for a patient.

Hearings are expected to continue this week. The cases involving the nurses involved may not be settled until 2021.

Up to 25 nurses face discipline as a result of the overdose deaths. Dr. Husel is out on bond as he awaits trial on 25 counts of murder.

His trial is set to begin this summer.
