Columbus a Finalist to Host a Future Women's Final Four

Notre Dame v Mississippi State

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--With the success of the last NCAA Women's Final Four in Columbus, the city is in the running to host the event again later this decade.

The NCAA says Columbus could host the Women's Division I College Basketball Championship again in either 2025 or 2026.

Columbus is one of four finalists, along with Tampa, Phoenix, and Portland.

The city hosted the Women's Final Four back in 2018, with the three games at Nationwide Arena. That event featured Connecticut, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, and Louisville. The Fighting Irish beat the Bulldogs for the championship, with each National Semifinal going to Overtime.

The final bids from the four finalists must be submitted by April 13th, with the NCAA announcing the winning sites for 2025 and 2026 sometime in October.
