One Dead, Two Injured in Shooting Near Library Branch

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--A shooting Monday evening near a branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library resulted in one person dead, and two others injured.

Columbus Police say it happened just before 8PM in the parking lot of the Driving Park Branch of the library, along East Livingston Avenue.

The shooting stemmed from an altercation among a large group of people. All three shooting victims were taken to grant Hospital. 18-year-old Jeremiah Williams later died.

Police Commander Smith Weir says no one involved in the altercation or shooting was a patron of the library before the incident occurred.

The murder is considered Columbus's 11th homicide of 2020.
