COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--A man posing as a delivery driver ended up attempting to rob a jewelry store on Columbus's west side Thursday morning.
Columbus Police say the suspect gained entry to the La Perla Jewelry Store on Soldano Boulevard just after 10AM, and displayed a firearm while demanding the employee open the safe.
The employee was also assaulted during the ordeal, but was able to scream for help. That prompted the suspect to flee without any money, and witness from a neighboring business was able to assist.
The suspect is described as a black male with a light complexion, a beard or goatee, wearing all-black clothing, a hoodie, and black shoes with white stripes.
