OHSAA Changes Ticket Policy for Upcoming Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Following recommendations from Ohio Governor Mike DeWine regarding indoor sporting events, and preventing the spread of coronavirus, the Ohio High School Athletic Association has made changes to its upcoming state championship tournaments.

As of Tuesday, all tickets sold to this weekend's Girls Basketball, Wrestling, and Ice Hockey finals are void, and tickets can now only be purchased on a limited basis for family members of student-athletes.

Tickets sold prior to the directive can be returned for a refund.

For the Wrestling, Girl's Basketball, and Ice Hockey championships, student-athletes can designate four family members to purchase a ticket. Coaches and school administrators will be allowed to administer two tickets to family members.

Other components of the weekend events have been canceled, like halftime entertainment, special sessions, and merchandise sales.

Many of the same ticketing policies also apply to this weekend's Boy's Basketball regional tournaments.

The State High School Girl's Basketball Championship tournament begins Thursday at St. John Arena. The State Wrestling Championships begin Friday at The Schottenstein Center, and the State ice Hockey Championships begin Saturday at Nationwide Arena.
