OSU Cancels Spring Football Game, Sets Attendance Limits for Athletics

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The Ohio State University has issued a directive regarding athletic events for the remainder of the academic year, over fears of the spread of coronavirus.

In a statement released Wednesday, the university announced that the 2020 Spring Football Game, at Ohio Stadium, has been canceled, and all remaining athletic events held on campus will be limited to attendance by student-athletes, families, essential staff and coaches, and the media.

The university is offering refunds for tickets purchased to the Spring Game, and other athletic events.

Earlier this week, the university canceled all face-to-face instruction in classes until at least March 30th.

The university continues to work closely with Governor Mike DeWine, who is issuing an executive order regarding large gatherings in Ohio until the threat of coronavirus has passed.
