Ventilators Now Being Tracked Across Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The state of Ohio has set up a tracking system for every ventilator available in the state.

Governor Mike DeWine made that announcement at his daily Coronavirus press conference on Tuesday. It requires weekly online reporting from any entity in the supply chain, from its creation to its end use.

DeWine says that includes manufacturers, transporters, distributors, doctors, and medical facilities are all covered in the order, signed by Dr. Amy Acton, Director of the Ohio Department of Health.

He adds it will allow for identification and redistribution of the machines to those facilities that need it.

Ventilators have become vital to the treatment of Coronavirus patients in the hospital, with widespread shortages reported.
