COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--A Columbus Police cruiser was caught in the crossfire of a shootout in the Hilltop late Wednesday afternoon.
CPD says it happened just after 6PM along Sullivant Avenue, near Columbian Avenue. The cruiser was struck in a series of gunshots, and responding officers got word from witnesses that several males ran to a getaway vehicle.
That car was later found along West Broad Street, where several males were acting suspiciously, and hid several items in nearby bushes. Patrol officers captured four of the suspects, and three guns were recovered from the bushes.
Two of those detained were juveniles with outstanding warrants, and were arrested. Two other adult males were released at the scene.
The investigation continues to determine if any charges will be filed.
