Ohio Governor Takes Coronavirus Test During Press Conference

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--In an effort to promote coronavirus testing available for all Ohioans, Governor Mike DeWine got a coronavirus test during his Tuesday press briefing.

DeWine, his wife Fran, and Ohio Lieutenant-Governor Jon Husted all got the test, which was administered by the Ohio National Guard.

Numerous pop-up testing sites have opened across Ohio in recent weeks, with DeWine saying they are focusing on under served areas to offer the tests.

As of Tuesday, the state reported 46,127 cases, with 590 new cases for Tuesday, about 25% above the 21-day average.

There were also 31 deaths reported Tuesday, along with 87 new hospitalizations. Both of those figures are also above the three-week averages.
