Columbus Passes 100 Homicides for 2020

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The city of Columbus has now reached 100 homicides for the year 2020.

Police say a woman was found stabbed to death in an alley near East Hudson Street Monday morning. That victim was later identified as 22-year-old Kearia Ayers.

It was part of a violent Labor Day weekend in Columbus, with at least five other incidents, and one other homicide, now under investigation.

Monday afternoon, police responded to the Sunbury Market, along Sunbury Road, on a report of a shooting. 20-year-old Dezujwuan Pyfrom was in the process of parking his truck, when two suspects approached and began shooting.

That victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another stabbing was reported on South Hamilton Road Monday afternoon, with three other felonious assault shootings reported Monday afternoon and evening.
