Murder Suspect Arrested on Property of State Representative

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Columbus Police took a murder suspect into custody Wednesday on property belonging to a state lawmaker.

Officers arrested 24-year-old Cameron Bowen at an apartment above a detached garage, behind the home of State Representative Kristin Boggs, along Hamlet Street in Italian Village.

Bowen is the boyfriend of 21-year-old Iris Green, who was living there and working as a nanny for Rep. Boggs. Green was also arrested and charged with Obstructing Official Business.

The two were arrested for the shooting death of 29-year-old Harry Williams along Linden Place, back on May 29th. 25-year-old Dejuan Bowen was also arrested in connection to the murder.

Rep. Boggs released a statement, saying, "In the spring, our family along with so many others had to unexpectedly find childcare during the stay-at-home orders. We did our research and made a hire that came highly recommended. As part of her compensation, we provided her with an apartment above our detached garage with its own address and separate entrance. The person she was seeing never spent any time around us or our children. We are thankful for the Columbus Police Department’s handling of this situation and will continue to cooperate however we can in their investigation.”
