Columbus Mayor Tweets Disappointment in Breonna Taylor Decision

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther tweeted his disappointment in the grand jury's deicsion not to return murder charges against the Louisville, Kentucky Police officers involved in the shooting death of Breonna Taylor.

With the grand jury only indicting one of the officers for wanton endangerment, for firing gunshots into a neighboring apartment the night of the raid on Taylor's residence, Ginther noted that the case is an example of why police reform is needed now.

He added that, "police killing people of color with little consequence has to stop."

That prompted a reaction from leaders of the local FOP Lodge 9. “It is unfortunate that Mayor Ginther will not accept the results of the civilian review process that he himself calls for," FOP Vice President Jeff Simpson told ABC-6.
