No Exemptions for Ohio Bars to COVID Rules for Football Playoff Games

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--With two of the most significant football playoff games in Ohio history coming up, the Governor will not make an exception for bars and restaurants across the state to stay open past the COVID-19 curfew.

Mike DeWine addressed the situation on Tuesday, with the Cleveland Browns playoff game against the Steelers on Sunday night, and the Ohio State Buckeyes in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game against Alabama on Monday night.

DeWine said the state's climbing COVID-19 case numbers were enough evidence for his decision not to exempt bars and restaurants from curfew during the games.

The state's curfew, from 10PM to 5AM nightly, is currently in effect through at least January 23rd.
