COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--In just the first 11 days of 2021, the city of Columbus has already had 11 homicides.
Columbus Police say the latest incident occurred along Leona Avenue, just after 5PM Monday. Officers were called there on a report of a shooting, and found 29-year-old Shaniqua Turner with multiple gunshot wounds.
She was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition, but later died.
The police report says Turner was walking through her front door when an unknown suspect shot Turner, and then fled the scene on foot.
